Le Tour Ripponden are looking for public backing for a flat, traffic free cycle route that would link Ripponden and Sowerby Bridge.
We have already held initial talks with Calderdale Council officers over the idea, which would provide a safe environment for cyclists, walkers and horse riders.
Ms Corinne Kielty, Le Tour Ripponden spokesperson, said the plan, which would upgrade and link existing sections of bridleway in the Ryburn Valley, would allow residents to by-pass the busy A58.
“We feel the route would be a fitting legacy from this summer’s visit of the Tour de France,” she said.
“It would allow families with young children to enjoy cycling in a safe environment as well as providing a practical everyday transport link between Ripponden and Sowerby Bridge.
